Ms. McElveen teaches Algebra 1 H, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Algebra 2H, and PreCal H. She holds a B.S. in Mathematics, an M.S. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, and an Ed S in Building Level Administration. Additionally, she has an Online Teaching Endorsement, AP AB Calculus, GT Endorsement, PBL Endorsement, and Middle School certification.
Ms. McElveen says, "I never wanted to be a teacher. I always knew that I would go into the medical field in some capacity. I decided to 'try' teaching for a couple of years before going back to school for a medical job (pharmacy or nuclear med). Fast forward 25 years and I am still here... teaching. I found that it was something that I was good at and truly enjoyed doing. I love getting to know my students, to see their success when they figure out how to do a problem they thought was too hard, and to sometimes see a love a math (well, maybe more of a like or appreciation of) begin to form."
